The Perth Wildcats did what the Perth Wildcats do on Thursday night qualifying for yet another NBL Grand Final series when defeating the Cairns Taipans by 11 points in Game 3 of their Semi Final playoff series.
They now face the Sydney Kings in a Best of 5 Grand Final Playoff series which gets underway in Sydney on Sunday.
The Kings scraped through their series against Melbourne United sneaking home in a nail-biting Game 3 to prevail 89 to 87.
While Sydney have the benefit of three home games as opposed to the Wildcats two in the Grand Final series I am betting with my heart and will stick with the Wildcats to find a way to win another NBL title.
Game one of the series tips off at 2.00pm on Sunday and Sydney go in as the $1.67 favourites with the Wildcats at $2.20.
I have been on Perth for a number of months now to win the title and see no reason to jump off now.
Sydney are no easy beats but a couple of their key players are now in the twilight of their careers and I can see Perth outstaying them over the 5 game series.
I am happy to have a small speck on the Wildcats to win Game one away at the $2.20 and have also backed Bryce Cotton to be the Grand Final series MVP which is paying $3.
ODI SOUTH AFRICA V AUSTRALIA GAME 3
South Africa have been all over the Aussies in games one and two and to be fair there have been no real excuses for the visitors.
I don’t like betting against Australia but the $2.50 on offer about South Africa at home for game three will get me for a little nibble.
I’ll also be backing Finch to be the leading runscorer for Australia at $4 and Ngidi to be the leading wicket taker for South Africa at $3.50.
WOMENS T20 WORLD CUP FINAL
Australia take on India in the T20 World Cup final on Sunday and despite not having a vintage tournament Australia really look to get their chance for more silverware here.
I am happy to take the $1.52 on offer about the Aussie women and will have something on Alyssa Healy to be the Leading Runscorer for the Aussies at $3.50.
My Premier League multi for this week requires Liverpool, Arsenal and Southampton to all prevail. The multi quote is $3.11.
Fremantle snuck in by a point against St. Kilda last week to maintain their unbeaten streak and they take on Brisbane this weekend.
I will take a multi with Fremantle to cover the line and win by 7 points or more in to North Melbourne to win their match by 11 points or more. The multi is paying $3.61.
My best racing bets of the weekend are as follows :
Flemington Saturday Race 7 Number 1 Rubisaki (TABtouch Fixed Odds Price $3.20) : Classy three year old filly who has had 7 career starts for 5 wins and 2 seconds racking up more than $853,00 in prizemoney in the process. Gets in well here under set weights conditions and from barrier six should get a nice run in transit. Has won both tries at this track and distance and looks the testing material.
Randwick Saturday Race 1 Number 3 Fasika (TABtouch Fixed Odds Price $2.50) : Quality mare who has had 6 visits to the races for 3 wins and 2 seconds. Resumes form a break here and has a great fresh card. From three tries over this distance has managed 2 wins and a second. Should take some stopping.
Ascot Saturday Race 6 Number 1 Laverrod (TABtouch Fixed Odds Price $2.00) : Promising three year old who looks set for a very bright future and his recent trial would suggest he is in for a fruitful preparation. From barrier 2 should be afforded a lovely run and prove too slick from there.
Ascot Saturday Race 9 Number 6 Playing Marika (TABtouch Fixed Odds Price $8.50) : In form mare who has managed a win and 4 placings from her last 6 starts. Has tremendous numbers over this trip where she has had 8 tries for 2 wins and 4 placings and at $8.50 the win and $2.70 the place I thought she looked a great each way play.
Cannington Saturday Race 5 Number 5 Starlight Yoyo (TABtouch Fixed Odds Price $2.10) : Proven top line sprinter who won a Perth Cup Prelude last week in grand style and has the early pace to overcome the awkward draw. Other nice bets look to be race 2 number 1 Dyna Dean the place, race three number 5 Tommy Shelby, race 7 number 6 Hear’s Tears and race 11 number 2 Circus Maximus.
