Here are this week’s top tips on all things sport and racing

The Perth Wildcats enter in to the 2019/20 NBL Finals campaign this evening and I think they will again be finding their way in to yet another Grand Final series.

They head in to tonight’s clash against the Cairns Taipans as the well backed $1.35 favourites with the Snakes a $3.50 outsider.

I am expecting Perth to elevate their game to a new level for the playoffs and I am happy to take the $1.92 on offer for the Wildcats to win by 7 points or more. If you know this column well you will be aware I will also be having a small speck on the Cats to win by a bigger margin at nice odds. $4 about 15 points or more and $8 about 21 points or more will get a small investment from yours truly.

If, like me, you think the Wildcats go on to win another NBL title from here you can step in to some of the $2.60 on offer for them to do so.

After completing a 2-1 series win over South Africa in the T20 series earlier in the week Australia commence their ODI series against the Proteas on Saturday night.

Australia are the $1.42 favourites with South Africa at $2.80 and I am happy to take the $1.42 in some multis this weekend.

In novelty bets Quinton de Kock most runs South Africa at $2.50 is the logical play while Steve Smith most runs Australia at $3.70 will get me for a nibble.

My Premier League multi for this week requires Newcastle to defeat Burnley and Liverpool to beat Watford. The multi quote is $3.66.

Fremantle are playing  great footy in the AFLW and they should continue their unbeaten streak against St. Kilda this weekend.

I will take a multi with Fremantle to cover the line and win by 14 points or more in to North Melbourne to win their match by 24 points or more. The multi is paying $3.61.

My best racing bets of the weekend are as follows :

Flemington Saturday Race 4 Number 2 Sylvia’s Mother (TABtouch Fixed Odds Price $2.40) : Second up specialist who has won all three tries when in that capacity in the past. Resumed from a break when she let loose late to rattle home to victory over 1200 metres at Caulfield. This looks ideal and can maintain her unblemished second up card and make it 4 from 4 here.

Flemington Saturday Race 6 Number 6 Fabergino (TABtouch Fixed Odds Price $2.65) : Flashy grey West Aussie who has won 7 of her 10 career starts including first up this campaign when she brained them in the Summer Scorcher. Has since been freshened and has her first try in Melbourne up the straight. She is well in at Listed level and if she handles the Flemington straight will prove too slippery with her dynamite burst of speed.

Randwick Saturday Race 4 Number 2 Cascadian (TABtouch Fixed Odds Price $3.80) : Very smart type who came from last first run this time in when a close up second and was superb last preparation in the Spring in a campaign that included a luckless 3rd in the Cantala Stakes at Flemington behind Fierce Impact. I am a big fan of this fellow and with average luck he should be swallowing them up late.

Randwick Saturday Race 8 Number 3 Ilwendo (TABtouch Fixed Odds Price $7.00) : Has won 2 of 3 tries over this distance of 2000 metres and looms as the value bet of the day. Won over the 1550 metres last time out at Canterbury when carrying 60.5 kilograms and drops back to 56 kilograms for this. In what is an open affair Ilwendo looks a magnificent each way bet at good odds.

Ascot Saturday Race 6 Number 9 Catherine Wheel (TABtouch Fixed Odds Price $4.60) : Quality mare who has had 7 career starts for 3 wins and 3 placings. Won her first start this preparation and then in what was a hot race was beaten less than half a length behind Shinju last start when third. She should take a power of beating here.
